Although I have lived within an hour or so of the Chilterns for most of my adult life, it wasn’t until I started a part-time role with the Chilterns Conservation Board that I really got to know the area. That was in 2007 and I soon learned from my new colleagues all about red kites, chalk streams and many other Chilterns' features. I was soon persuaded to join the Chiltern Society and began participating in PhotoGroup activities.

As a postscript I have found that researching the library for my favourites in November 2020 has made me realise how much I miss the camaraderie of our outings. Let’s hope we can return soon.
