In the ’60s I discovered mountains on a school trip to North Wales, joined the Kings College London Climbing Club and married Colin. This photo was our first independent Alpine season. We wanted to climb Mont Blanc, but only ever attained splendid view-points like this on the other ridges around Chamonix. Of course none of these earlier photographs were digital. Colin later spent a long time scanning batches of favourites into his PC from negatives or slides.
