PhotoGroup Chairman Barry Hunt “Photography has no rules, it is not a sport. It is the result which counts, no matter how it is achieved”. Bill Brandt. This year marks the 20th anniversary of both the annual Online Photographic Exhibition and the introduction in early 2004 of the PhotoGroup’s website (and incidentally Google’s launch of Gmail, although the two events are not connected). Its growth through two decades of digital photography has established the Exhibition as a popular showcase of pictorial and technical excellence and this year’s edition is no exception. Our thanks go to Dr Peter Brodrick, who has taken over as Exhibition Organiser, as well as Damon Guy who again has provided the entertaining and instructive comments that accompany all of the submitted images. We had 266 entries, from 30 individuals and as per usual Landscapes made up the largest category. I was pleased to see that we had several new authors and some excellent work in our adapted creative (Other) category. Exhibition Commentator Damon Guy Damon Guy has been a photographer since his teens. Once hooked, his interest led to serious camera purchases. Damon focussed mainly on personal projects and interests. In 2000, he got his first digital camera. That sparked off a broader relationship with photography that continues today. After years as a camera club member, Damon went professional in 2010. Now he runs a photography website (https://photokonnexion.com), teaches photography and works freelance too. Damon also manages photographic judging in the Chilterns Association of Camera Clubs. He is an active photographic judge and lecturer at camera clubs throughout the SE of England.
