The Rock and Roll statue in the lake is by the French sculptor Hubert Yencesse and was erected in the summer of 1962. The lake was formed by ponding banks on the Gade. It is unusual to see the statue without a seagull on one of the dancers' heads, as evidenced by the state of the statues.
