This is the sixteenth century Stonewell Farm, the oldest house in the village. Large granite blocks found in the garden of the farmhouse are believed to be from the original stone well, probably of the Roman period. The farm was bought and restored by a member of the Penn family to prevent the threatened purchase by an American who planned to dismantle the building and rebuild it in his homeland.
