St Mary’s, Northchurch is one of the oldest churches in Hertfordshire. It actually pre-dates the church of St Peter’s in nearby Berkhamsted and was originally known as the ‘North Church’ becoming shortened to the one word we know today. There is an impressive Totternhoe stone crossing tower.
