The parish church of St Giles dates partly from the twelfth century, with various additions and alterations from every century since, culminating in a major Victorian restoration. The tower at the west end of the church as seen in this view, was built, or rebuilt, in the fifteenth century and its clock, originally with only one hand, was added in 1710.
