Memorial to Elizabeth Dutton, which arrived in 1730 from St Martin-in-the-Fields in London. Elizabeth was the daughter of the eldest son of Sir Thomas Egerton, founder of the Bridgewater family. Poor Elizabeth died aged 16, newly married, when the horse carrying both her and her new husband stumbled and fell. The bridegroom was killed, and Elizabeth died of a broken heart within the year.
