Rayners, completed in 1847 as home to the Rose Family, later became a school run by Camden Council to teach children with profound hearing and additional physical or learning difficulties. In 1999 it was taken over by the Rayners Special Education Trust which has since gone into receivership and in 2019 the building stood empty, owned by the government.
