2008. St Mary the Virgin. A Saxon church existed here from about 670, replaced by 12th century Norman and many alterations since. The present tower dates from 1721 replacing a central tower that collapsed in 1703. The tenor (clock) bell, weighing over half a ton, was cast at Wokingham about 1410.
