Buildings on the left and centre are where dumper trucks brought chalk. Chalk was taken by conveyor belt to a crusher where lumps were broken down by chains, then transferred to a wash mill to form an 80% water slurry.

The low building on the right was the quarry foreman's office and a mess room.
