    As a Chesham resident, I’m proud of the brick making tradition in the area. Unfortunately, as far as I know, the only remaining brick works here nowadays is this one, H G Matthews at Bellingdon. I believe that much of their output is quite specialist – one of the other photographs in this set features bricks produced for Latimer House and an archway in Twickenham. I chose this picture, however, because it shows a key part of the brick making process, and is a spectacular and dramatic image!
