Each ‘green’ brick contains a pint of water. In warm weather slow drying is started under cover for two weeks, followed by a few days in a drying room where the temperature is gradually raised till the bricks steam! In winter they are placed in drying sheds and slowly heated by water-filled radiators. These are now heated by efficient eco-friendly boilers (virtually smokeless) running on wood chip fuel.
