The church of St Lawrence (patron saint of prostitutes) dominates the top of West Wycombe Hill. The base of the tower and the walls of the chancel date from the 13th and 14th centuries, but a Christian church had existed many centuries before on a nearby Iron Age hill fort. The current church was constructed in the Classical style and opened in 1763 under instruction from Sir Francis Dashwood. (2014)
