The Oddfellows Arms public house is named after a Friendly Society established in 1810 and the different quarters on the shield represent: time (hour glass); security (crossed keys); work (beehive); and sacrifice (lamb and flag). The red rose of England is in the centre and the motto means ‘Friendship, Love and Truth’.
