The southern end of Piccotts End Road runs parallel with Gadebridge Park. This popular parkland was owned by the Paston Cooper family who sold the estate to the Borough Council in 1952. The village itself is one of several 'Ends' in the district. The name denotes a clearance or small settlement, such as Bourne End, Pouchen End and Potten End.
