A long artificial stretch of open water, known as The Dyke, is fed by a spring in the adjoining Wycombe Abbey School grounds and flows east through the park. It originally formed part of the landscaping of the grounds attributed to Capability Brown. Today it is a major feature of the parkland's hinterland and well-worth exploring if you only know the London Road section of the The Rye.
