The trees are leafless, and the reed beds dry. 'On the wind in February, snowflakes float still. Half inclined to turn to rain, nipping, dripping, chill', Christina Georgina Rossetti. On these days it took more effort to wrap up and get out to take my photographs, but I was always glad I did. 'February Fill Dyke, be it black (rain) or white (snow)' is what my Dad always called this month, alluding to the amount of bad weather to be had. I always feel it's the depths of winter, and yet there can be beautiful sunsets, as in this more distant shot of 'my' trees. And spring can't be too far away – I can't wait.
