A new year, and in January the trees and the reservoir are motionless, gripped with frost. I am reminded of 'January brings the snow, makes our feet and fingers glow'. I found to my surprise that this is from a poem, The Months, by Sara Coleridge, daughter of Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and not by Flanders and Swann which is how I came to know it.
