    It’s not every day that you have an opportunity to watch a master craftsman at work but I was fortunate enough to be on a 2005 PhotoGroup outing to Speen that included a visit to see Joseph Nuttgens, designer and maker of stained glass windows.
    Seeing the process evolve from pencil sketches to detailed colour drawings to create a design, then the selection and careful cutting of glass followed by laying out the pieces and applying lead strips to hold it all together is quite amazing to someone like me who made a living working on computers.
