THE PEOPLE'S FAVOURITES
Thanks to everyone who chose their favourite photo in this year's online exhibition. It's the first time browsers had the opportunity to do this and it has produced some fascinating results.
With more than 300 images online we thought it a bit unlikely that more than one person would vote for the same favourite – but we were wrong: John Harrison's “There is a world of difference ...” (ex19O009) got the most votes. Another of his entries, “Old friends ...”, (ex19H022) also attracted votes.
The entrant who had more favourites than anyone else was Miriam Mee. Miriam entered 12 photos and 4 of them were voted favourites: “The lone tree, Malham” (ex19L019) and “St Mary's lighthouse, Whitley” (ex19H024) attracted the most votes, closely followed by “Bamburgh Castle” (ex19H025) and “Grasmere winter” (ex19L017).
Other favourites were Bob Smith's “Mammillaria: the circle is complete at last” (ex19F072), Steve Rodrick's “The iconic power station ...” (ex19H005), Jim Conboy's “Asheridge Vale ...” (ex19L071) and John Hockey's “Fire, Avoncroft Museum” (ex19O002).
Do have a good look at them all; you may have missed some as not all the favourites were selected for comment by Terry Coffey. Congratulations to everyone who took a Favourite photo.
