2021 EXHIBITION
335 photos in 5 sub-albums
PhotoGroup Chairman Barry Hunt In the end, the uncertainties and restrictions of Corvid-19 did not adversely effect the Online Photographic Exhibition 2021. To help make up for reduced time behind their cameras, entrants were encouraged to dig deeper than usual among their favourite images. The result is a gratifyingly excellent collection of images from the Chilterns and other parts of the UK, many of which show the high levels of creativity and technical expertise we have come to expect. Thanks once again to Bob Smith, who organised this 17th edition. Thanks also to Damon Guy for his highly entertaining and informative comments on all the photos. Exhibition Editor Bob Smith Running our 2021 Exhibition during a pandemic led me to wonder how many entries we would receive in comparison to previous years. However, 30 authors submitted an all-time high 335 photographs. As in previous years, Landscapes and Flora & Fauna were the most popular categories. Over half of the 83 images in the latter category were taken in the Chilterns. The images selected for the cover picture of each category were chosen because they typified that category. Exhibition Commentator Damon Guy Damon Guy has been a photographer since his teens. Once hooked, his interest led to serious camera purchases. Damon focussed mainly on personal projects and interests. In 2000, he got his first digital camera. That sparked off a broader relationship with photography that continues today. After years as a camera club member, Damon went professional in 2010. Now he runs a photography website (https://photokonnexion.com), teaches photography and works freelance too. Damon also manages photographic judging in the Chilterns Association of Camera Clubs. He is an active photographic judge and lecturer at camera clubs throughout the SE of England.
