Checkendon is seven miles west of Henley. Among several buildings of architectural interest is Foundry Cottage, 17th century and listed Grade II. Its construction includes 19th century windows, flint with brick dressings and a timber frame with brick infill. The half-hipped tiled roof and central brick stack are also original.
