A vista of a wide shallow vale opens as we drop down the eastern end of the Chilterns. The far side of this valley has been threatened with development, as part of the ‘West of Stevenage’ scheme for 3,600 houses. The plans were withdrawn in August 2013. The Trail leads us down to Chapelfoot. GR 194250
