William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, was buried at Jordans according to his own wishes. He hailed from Buckinghamshire and frequently attended the Meeting House. Hannah Penn was his second wife who effectively became the first woman governor of an American state after William died. Gulielma Maria Penn was William’s first wife.
