St Mary’s was rebuilt at the very end of the 15th century. The roof was raised and transepts, porches and Perpendicular windows were added. This was the work of Sir Reginald (Reynold) Bray, who fought with Henry Tudor at the Battle of Bosworth that ended the Wars of the Roses in 1485.
