St Mary's, the parish church of the town. The present building dates from the 13th century but in 1804 the tower collapsed and was replaced by a wooden spire that, in its turn, was replaced by the present stone steeple in 1908. St Mary’s was extensively restored in the early 19th century. Photo 2003.
