The original church of St Nicholas dates from the late 12th century. The first reference was in 1178, when Pope Alexander III confirmed the manor to the Abbey of Ramsey. The south aisle was begun in 1220 and the north aisle followed about 1250. Not surprisingly it is a Grade I listed building.
