On the east side of Bell Street these houses were, from at least the beginning of the 17th century until the 1850s, the Bell Inn. In the Civil War the building was used by Prince Rupert who is reputed to have had a spy hanged from an elm tree in the front garden. Between 1854 and c1928 it was used by Henley Grammar School. 2006.
