All Saints Church at Chalgrave, one that I photographed for this project, also had wonderful 13th century stone carvings. The wall paintings are less well preserved but still fascinating. This shows Saint Martin of Tours turning on his horse to slice off half his warm cloak to give to a beggar, who has been almost obliterated by time.
