A street scene in Akeman Street, which extends to the Tring Natural History Museum at the corner of Park Road. During the Victorian era much of this area was redeveloped with rows of artisans' terraced houses interspersed with busy courtyards full of small businesses. These remain, but nearly all of the original half-dozen or so pubs and ale houses have gone.
