Flemish bond brickwork, segmented window arches and the use of unglazed terracotta tiles for the low-pitched triangular pediment and the decorative vertical bands on a High Street building. Coupled with well-proportioned sash or mullion windows, they typify the creativity and craftsmanship associated with Arts and Crafts architecture which began in the mid-19th century and which characterises many of Tring's buildings.
