Tring Market Auctions in Brook Street was formed in 1982. This independent firm once occupied part of the old cattle market and is now housed in a purpose-built auction house. Twice a month it conducts general and fine art auctions, attracting generalists and specialists from a wide area. "I suspect these rather lovely iron railings were part of the cattle market", writes Alison Beck.
