East of Cookham the Thames separates into four channels: one contains Cookham lock, weirs control two, while the fourth was once the millstream to Cookham paper mill. Cookham Weir, shown here, straddles the northern and widest of the four branches. It is the original navigation channel, known as Hedsor Water, and sweeps around a large bend.
