In1755 Wendover had 27 pubs and a stagecoach ran from the Red Lion to Holborn. These days it is easy to commute to London and the town (population around 8500) still has many pubs and restaurants. The photographs were mostly taken in July 2008.

Description The Red Lion hotel, originally the Lion, in the High Street is one of the oldest public houses in Wendover. Records date it back to 1670 although it is likely to be very much older. It was refaced in about 1900 but there are many old timbers inside.
