During and following World War II the house was used for institutional purposes, being sold to Plessey Electronics in 1963. In 1988 the building was bought by SGI-UK (Soka Gakkai International). SGI is an international lay Buddhist society that has restored the house and grounds. The library at Taplow Court is now used for study.
