Our tour of Princes Risborough starts with a sequence that puts the town in context with its Chiltern landscape. This is a 1997 photo looking east from Pyrtle Spring towards Brimmers Road, to the south of the town. The first reference to the town is in 903 AD, soon after a Danish army marched along the nearby Upper Icknield Way. They described it as "the brush covered hills by the Chiltern eaves".
