This grade 1 listed sixteenth century cottage is where John Milton lived with his wife when they left London to escape the Plague in 1665 and while he was here he completed his famous "Paradise Lost". It is now a museum containing editions of Milton's poetry and writings that were published during his lifetime and shortly after.
