Acting chairman's introduction
The Online Exhibition has deservedly become an eagerly awaited event in the PhotoGroup calendar. For the 2012 edition we again have a rich choice of pictures taken in the Chilterns and from throughout the United Kingdom. Congratulations to all those members who participated.
The categories are the same as before: Buildings, Flora and Fauna, Landscape, Heritage; this last being left somewhat unspecific, so that 'quirky' yet interesting subjects can be included.
The exhibition is open to all Chilterns Society members, It is not competitive, so there are no winners or losers, but comments are welcome through the usual channel of
webphotos@chilternphoto.org.uk. As the year progresses, remember to keep next year's exhibition in mind when you take your photographs, ready to meet the year's end deadline.
Barry Hunt
A few words from the exhibition editor.
The exhibition for 2012 displays 262 pictures taken by 28 authors, and compares very well with last year's work for variety and quality.
Flora and Fauna are in the majority, with the other three categories enjoying more or less equal support. The pictures are presented in order of author's first initial.
The categories can overlap, so that a picture may easily fall into two or even three categories; I have re-allocated one or two of these but for the most part the author has made the choice.
The new website format provides a full screen option with twice the resolution of the previous system, and a slideshow mode which retains the picture titles, so that pictures can now be shown to very good effect using this facility.
